⏰Magic Routine

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-20

Magic Routine is a free visual routine timer for children. We built it so that families can use it without creating an account and without handing over personal data. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to data when you use the site.

Who is responsible

Magic Routine is an independent project run by the Magic Routine team. We are responsible for this website and for the decisions about which tools it uses.

What we do not collect

There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no payments. We do not ask for your name, your email or any information about your child.

Your routines (activity names, icons and durations) are saved only in your own browser, using localStorage. They are never sent to us or stored on our servers.

Shared routine links

If you use "Share this routine", the routine is encoded inside the link itself. Anyone who has the link can see the activities in it, so avoid writing personal details in activity names you plan to share.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used (for example, how many routines are started or completed) so we can improve it. Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) are only set if you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. Advertising features are always disabled.

Until you choose, Google Analytics runs in Consent Mode with all storage denied: it may receive basic signals without cookies or identifiers, which Google uses only in aggregate. If you reject, no analytics cookies are set.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which measure visits and page performance without cookies and without identifying you.

Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.

Data stored in your browser

magichour_routine: your current routine. cookie_consent: your choice in the cookie banner. Both stay on your device and you can delete them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, it processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages and keep the service secure.

Children

The timer is designed to be used by children together with an adult. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children.

Your choices and rights

You can change your cookie choice at any time with "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of every page. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to its processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. Because we do not hold personal data about you, most requests can be resolved by clearing your browser data or rejecting cookies; data processed by Google Analytics is managed according to Google's privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date above.
